Integrated partnership powered by global expertise
AMC, in partnership with Rockwell Automation, delivers End-of-Line (EOL) and Functional Assembly Module (FAM) testing solutions across North America. Rockwell Automation brings 20+ years of experience, with its software and development team, while AMC contributes 30+ years of manufacturing expertise.
Rockwell Automation provides standardized tester software, industrial measurement cards, and system racks. AMC is responsible for the controls and mechanical hardware design, as well as the manufacturing and assembly of the equipment. AMC also conducts Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at its facility and performs final integration followed by Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) at the customer’s location.
Following installation of systems, AMC delivers ongoing service and support, ensuring long-term system performance and customer satisfaction.
Flexible test solutions & advanced software
Test units are available in a variety of configurations, including portable suitcase systems for low-volume or pre-series builds, as well as single or dual seat setups. Solutions can be implemented in on-line or off-line environments, with options such as conveyor, cart, or manual systems to fit different production requirements.
The tester software provides a powerful suite of tools designed to optimize the testing process. This enables users to configure test types and limits, build product-specific test recipes, and perform parallel testing to reduce overall cycle time while controlling the test sequence. Our end of line testing system features an intuitive operator interface that displays real-time test status and guides required actions, while also integrating with MES systems to collect inputs and report results, supporting efficient and autonomous operation.
Cobot integration & mechanical design
Our system incorporates advanced cobot integration allowing for enhanced testing capability and automation. Collaborative robots are used for switch activation, headrest testing, and buckle tab in/out functions. Additional technologies such as laser distance sensors and vision systems further improve accuracy and reliability. All components are fully integrated into the tester software for seamless operation and control.
The EOL mechanical design is built on a precise and stable extrusion-based structure. A modular T-slot system provides flexible mounting options, while rigidly mounted laser sensors ensure consistent measurement accuracy. Ergonomic MMI boxes support operator interaction, and an accurate lower/locate mechanism integrated into the conveyor ensures proper positioning of components within the tester.
Force Application Machine integration
Our FAM solution is an Aptiv-endorsed system designed for precise and reliable testing, and can be adapted for a wide range of load-based occupant sensor applications. It features a stable, reinforced extrusion-based structure combined with frictionless air bearings on the Z-axis and AB Kinetix servo-driven motion for high accuracy and smooth operation.
The modular T-slot design allows flexible mounting configurations, while the motion axis(s) are engineered for high repeatability and consistency across multiple units. The system can be configured with or without a PLC to support different servo options, and multiple axis setups are available to suit specific product and process requirements. A calibration scale, which can be machine-mounted, ensures ongoing accuracy and performance.
