Powered Zone Roller (PZR) system

Powered roller conveyor systems delivering intelligent accumulation and modular flexibility

Bi-directional zoned motion for safe, flexible accumulation

The Powered Zone Roller (PZR) conveyor is AMC’s modular, zero-contact accumulation system, designed to move and stage parts efficiently without the need for pallets or mechanical stops. Each conveyor is composed of multiple independent “zones,” with every zone powered by a bi-directional motor.

Our powered roller conveyor systems allow parts to accumulate without touching, as each zone only advances a part when the next downstream zone is clear. This intelligent zone control makes the PZR ideal for handling delicate or precision components where surface protection and gentle movement are critical.

The flexibility of application distinguishes the PZR from traditional floor conveyors. PZR conveyors are available in standardized lengths, enabling rapid layout assembly and reconfiguration. Application engineers can easily integrate PZR modules into larger systems—eliminating the need to custom-lengthen or shorten units during installation.

The PZR’s tread and drive design serves as the foundation for other systems in the PZR family, including turntables, shuttles, and rail-guided vehicles, allowing consistent performance and control across a variety of material handling solutions.

Key features of PZR powered roller conveyor systems

The PZR systems combine intelligent accumulation, modular construction, and flexible controls to support efficient material handling across a wide range of manufacturing and distribution applications.

  • Zero-contact accumulation without pallets or stops
  • Independent zone control with bi-directional motors
  • Modular design for flexible and fast system assembly
  • Standard conveyor lengths reduce installation time and complexity
  • Compatible with extended PZR family systems: turntables, shuttles, and RGVs
  • Available roller materials: Steel, Steel (Clear Zinc), Steel (Chrome), Friction-coated, Plastic
  • Optional Accumulation Rollers for part protection and smooth handling

Typical applications include: automotive assembly and component transfer; appliance and electronics production; packaging and warehousing systems; and delicate or high-value product handling.
